Giving Cats a Loving Home

Poppy is around 2 years old and a truly special little cat with a huge personality! She forms strong bonds with her people - she isn’t the kind of cat who simply tolerates you being around - she wants to be involved in what you’re doing, and be part of the family.

 At bedtime, she makes biscuits in her donut bed whilst purring loudly enough to wake the neighbours, then settles next to our bed so she can stay close through the night. Every morning, she patiently waits for us to wake up and the moment she sees we’re awake, jumps up for fuss and attention. When she’s especially excited, her tail does the funniest little vibration - a bit like a tiny rattlesnake! At times, she can feel separation anxiety (either during the day or night) and may cry for attention, in which case it’s enough to call her name and she’ll come running, rub her head on your hand, and either settle down or go back to what she was doing before. We think this will pass with time, the more secure and safe she feels.

She’s a funny, confident, gentle and chatty little character who loves to play, chase, hunt and explore. She’s also a talented scavenger who can sniff out a hidden treat anywhere in the house.

She would love a home with at least one friendly, playful cat to keep her company. If there are more cats, we're sure she would also like this as she's so social and thrives on attention and company. She would be great with children as she's such a gentle little girl. She doesn't need a garden, as long as she has another cat(s) and a bigger space to call home. That said, if there was a garden she could enjoy safely, that’s even better.

Poppy has so much love to give. She is an endlessly entertaining little companion who simply wants to be close to her people and enjoy the safe, loving forever home she has always deserved.

Poppy suffers from a mild immune-mediated skin condition, most likely an allergic dermatitis, for which she takes half a tablet of steroid with her wet food every other day. Poppy’s condition may be seasonal or long-term. Time will tell if she can come off the medication completely, luckily low-dose steroids are generally well-tolerated in cats for long-term use, and Poppy accepts them without a fuss.

Raksha is a friendly, affectionate girl with a wonderfully relaxed temperament. She enjoys human company and is gentle with both adults and children. She loves being stroked and is perfectly happy to be picked up for a cuddle, making her a lovely companion for a family or individual looking for a sweet-natured cat.

Her journey has been quite remarkable. She appeared in someone’s garden in early November and soon gave birth to three beautiful kittens. When she was finally brought into foster care with her little family, it was discovered that she was pregnant again. She went on to give birth to seven more kittens, proving herself to be an incredibly devoted and resilient mother.
