Poppy 10

Poppy is a beautiful tuxedo girl with the sweetest little personality and a huge heart. She is the perfect mix of affectionate, calm, playful, and independent, the kind of cat who quickly becomes part of the family. She was not shy at all when she first came here

Her mornings usually start with gentle kisses and cuddles in bed, shortly followed by a polite reminder that breakfast should be served immediately. She’s not overly vocal, but she absolutely will meow while you prepare her food, just to make sure you know she’s supervising properly.

Poppy loves affection and being close to her humans. She enjoys being picked up, sleeps in bed at night, and loves curling up on you while you fall asleep. One of the things her fosterer will miss most are her cute little licks and the way she quietly keeps you company.

She is a confident and relaxed cat who settles into home life incredibly well. Visitors and new people don’t faze her at all; rather than hiding away, she usually carries on as normal and may even wander over to say hello. She’s wonderfully calm around household noises and has been an amazing indoor cat. Poppy also has a playful and adventurous side. She loves exploring the house, zooming around when the mood hits, sitting inside cardboard boxes, and occasionally playing with little toy mice. She isn’t fussy with food at all and absolutely loves treats.

One of the most special things about Poppy is how gentle and patient she is with her fosterer's 5-month-old puppy, Coco. Even when he annoys her, she has never once reacted badly or hurt him. The two of them spend their days playing together, having afternoon naps, and often sleeping either in their own beds or curled up together in Coco’s crate/hut. Temperament-wise, Poppy is incredibly balanced. She is loving without being demanding, playful without being chaotic, and confident without being aggressive. I truly believe she would thrive either in a calm home or in a family environment.

Coming into foster care, Poppy has had some health issues (teeth, skin allergy, stiffness in her back/back legs, and a very quiet/occasional heart murmur) that were investigated and treated. She would benefit from continued monitoring, but her skin has improved greatly, and her stiffness is much better now – she is back to happily jumping up again and enjoying daily life comfortably.

She really is such a special little cat, and whoever adopts her will be very lucky to have such a sweet, funny, affectionate companion in their life.
